Of Women, By Women, For Women!
1. Retention of Strong Leadership
➢ Learning and development plans for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors will be essential as the services and programs continue to grow and our expanded client base demands more from our Association.
➢ The Nominations Committee will be proactive and assertive in recruiting new members to the Board of Directors by conducting a gap analysis and a recruitment / succession planning strategy designed to ensure the diversity and health of the board.
2. Service Expansion – YWCA without Borders
➢ Continue to go where the need is and to collaborate with others. A continuation of the Outreach Model of working will ensure the programs and services reach the people who need it the most.
➢ Expand scope with Moncton as the hub; in collaboration with other communities.
➢ As demand for YWCA programs and services grow beyond the Greater Moncton Area there may be a need to consider a possible name change to reflect the broader geographical range.
3. Commitment to Bilingualism
➢ All new program materials and services will be budgeted with essential translation costs. Existing program materials will eventually be translated as funds become available.
➢ The YWCA will strive to be a leader in best practices for linguistic inclusion in the way we operate. This will require that staff have the linguistic skills necessary to be effective in their positions.
4. Fiscal Sustainability through New Funding Initiatives
➢ The YWCA Moncton strives to a vibrant, ethical non-profit organization committed to seeing its vision, mission and goals come to fruition.
5. Association Development

➢ Governance policies and procedures will be reviewed and renewed on an on-going basis and clear roles and responsibilities will govern the work done.
➢ The Association will attract a diverse group of women from various professional, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
6. Housing for Women
➢ An application will be submitted to Service Canada under the Homelessness Partnership Initiative to begin addressing the need for supportive housing for women in the Greater Moncton Area.
➢ A site will be identified with the support of the City of Moncton to identify possible locations for the building.
➢ A Building Committee will be formed with community representation (i.e. VON Healthy Baby and Me, Great Moncton Homebuilders Association, Moncton NE Construction Association, Habitat for Humanity)
➢ A capital fund campaign will be conducted.
➢ A well thought out policy that speaks to the YW’s commitment to diversity will be developed. Collecting sample policies from other YW member associations will help ensure a policy that reflects the mission and goals of the YW.
