Christmas Homes Tour

The YWCA of Moncton is proud to continue a Christmas tradition in presenting the 14th Annual Christmas Homes Tour on November 30th (between 6pm and 9:30pm) and December 1st (between 12pm and 4pm). We will display 5 outstanding homes and one retirement complex apartment beautifully decorated for Christmas. This is a self-guided tour with the homes open to ticket holders both days. Also, Parkland Estates Royal Court is open throughout the event for a traditional Christmas tea. We promise the tour will appeal to those who love beautiful homes and holiday decorating. Join us in this entertaining event that is sure to awaken your enthusiasm for Christmas.

The following homeowners have graciously consented to be on the tour this year:

21 Austin Street, Moncton
Homeowners: Jane O’Connor & Stephen Fraser
This heritage home was built in 1908 for Captain Robert C. Bacon who was a prominent early mariner. The house is a beautiful example of early 20th century Craftsman architecture with Queen Anne influences. Jane & Stephen recently purchased this historic home and were delighted that the previous owners had maintained the important architectural features. However they wanted the kitchen to be more in keeping with the rest of the house so they carried out an extensive kitchen renovation. Jane has decorated for Christmas using noteworthy collectibles procured over many years.

8 Burns Lane, Moncton
Homeowners: Carmen & Peter Burns
This new development proudly displays a luxury condo owned by Carmen & Peter Burns. Tucked away in a private cozy surrounding off Bessborough Ave, visitors are invited to share the comfort & style of easy living. The main level is decorated with Mrs. Burns' love of elegance and fresh flowers. The lower level is filled with traditional Christmas elements for the delight of kids and grandchildren home for the holidays. Special thanks to Marilyn Dryden for helping bring it all together.

91 Oakmoor Terrace, Moncton
Homeowners: Josée Martin & Michel Breau
This split level house was one of the first built in beautiful Kingwood Park. Josée and Michel, with the guidance of Interior Decorator Carol Daoust Lemoine, have succeeded in capturing the true spirit of Christmas. On display will be superbly decorated Christmas trees and an outstanding collection of over 100 nutcrackers that has taken Michel 10 years to collect. They have enjoyed every minute of preparing for the tour and visitors will be delighted by their decorating efforts.

122 Rivercrest Avenue, Riverview
Homeowners: Marlene & Eric McGaugh
Marlene has enjoyed being a visitor on the tour for many years and is pleased to open her home for the YWCA’s annual event. This charming house was built around 1920 and is known in the community as “The Wilson House”. The McGaugh’s purchased the home from the original family and it serves as the perfect setting for Marlene’s village collection and delightful decorations.  An abundance of greenery adds to the feeling of an old fashion Christmas.

965 Coverdale Road, Riverview
Homeowners: Jan & Jon Carberry
It has always been a life long wish of Jan & Jon from England to run their own Bed & Breakfast.  Canada was always a favourite holiday destination for them so they were fortunate to finally find their ideal home in scenic Riverview. They opened "The Coverdale Bed & Breakfast" mid August, and they feel very fortunate to be living their dream here. Enjoy the Carberry’s English hospitality while sharing with them their first Christmas in their beautiful home.

Parkland Estates Royal Court
822 Coverdale Road, Riverview
The residents of Parkland Estates Royal Court invite you to join them as they get into the Christmas spirit. They are pleased be your host for a Christmas tea open to visitors throughout the tour. Also, they have decorated a private apartment, the front lobby, and Royal Albert room.  Come and see "Retirement Living, the way it is meant to be"
