Are you having legal difficulties with issues such as divorce, custody or child support? The YWCA of Moncton offers information sessions to address common Family Law questions and concerns. These information sessions will assist Women in understanding their rights and responsibilities in the context of separation and divorce and will be hosted by local lawyers.
This advice clinic is staffed by volunteer lawyers whose preferred area of practice and experience is in family law. Advice is given on matters such as: separation, divorce, custody, access, division of property and guardianship. The lawyer will provide approximately thirty minutes of legal consultation fee of charge. No legal work will be performed (no phone calls, no paper work, no court representation etc.) The lawyer will only answer questions and give advice.
The clinic is for Women who have limited financial resources and who have not hired or consulted with a lawyer.
The Centre offers a safe place for Women to obtain print and educational information on matters pertaining to family law. The Centre is also equipped with computers and knowledgeable staff who work closely with the Department of Justice and the Public Legal Education and Information of New Brunswick.
